Federal Member for Jagajaga, Jenny Macklin MP today joined the Lower Plenty Primary School community in Montmorency to officially open their innovative new classrooms and library facilities delivered under the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution Program.
Lower Plenty Primary School received $1.7 million for the new facilities, as well as $75,000
in funding through the Federal Government’s National School Pride Program to undertake refurbishment works.
Ms Macklin congratulated Lower Plenty Primary on their new facilities.
“Principal Mark Turnbull, as well as staff and the entire school community have put an enormous amount of their energy into making this day a reality,”
“This is a really exciting moment for this school. You can tell they’re really looking forward to making the very most of this new facility,”
“These facilities open up a whole new world of possibilities for the entire school community, as well as their ability to make new connections with the local community around them,”
“Importantly, many jobs were supported during the construction phase of these facilities which kept many people in work during the global financial crisis.” Ms Macklin said.
