During my time in Federal Parliament I have been proud of the many achievements we as a community have accomplished.
These include the rebuilding of the Austin Hospital and the construction of the Mercy Hosptial and the building and refurbishment of 41 local schools.
I am also proud of our achievements in working to maintain a better work life balance for local families.
We all know the demands of the modern workforce can place strain on families. That's why the securing a safety net of miniumum ways and employment conditions have been so important.
The implementation of the paid parental leave scheme will benefit thousands of local residents who now care for their newborns with 18 weeks of payment support.
Importantly, I have worked hard for older residents, many of whom undertake valuable voluntary work which benefits our community.
We continue to make important progress in reforming our pension system so that it is now sustainable for the thousands of age and disability pensioners, carers and veterans who depend on it in Jagajaga.
